A bit about me

Sitting down Infront of a career advisor at 17 to be told "you don't want to be a hairdresser, it would be a waste of intelligence" doesn't even break the top 50 most damaging things said to me. But it is where my career began. I did unfortunately listen to said career advisor, left my salon Saturday job and put aside my hopes of being Britain's next Vidal Sassoon to complete my degree in Philosophy. (I chose philosophy because I have a talent for arguments but no patience for law books.)

Following my degree came 2 dull years in property sales, where I regularly came home to the house I shared with my mother to moan about how unfulfilling my job was. My wining got too much for her one day and she said "Hannah-Louise just quit! Go do something you'll actually enjoy".

So I did.

And full 360'd back into the salon. I have worked in hairdressing for 7 years now, and loved every second. I have made incredible friends on the way (stylists and clients). And I've learned a LOT about the beauty industry.

I hope to provide a peak behind the curtain, answer the questions you're dying to ask, and possibly make you chuckle.
